Camden High School, considered an historical landmark, is organized as a comprehensive high school educating approximately 1500 students, grades 9-12, and the Educational Options Program. Students are encouraged and provided with multiple opportunities to explore a variety of post-high school career options, including the work force, the military and college.
All programs promote the academic preparedness, participation and achievement of all students. All programs provide students preparation for post high school education. Instruction is standards driven and adheres to the promotion and graduation requirements of the School District of Camden. Through relevant real world experiences and authentic assessments, Camden students are prepared to meet the challenges inherent to life as productive adults in the twenty-first century.
Students participate in School to Career initiatives, providing shadowing, service learning, dual enrollment and work-based learning experience to students throughout their tenure at Camden High School. Advanced placement courses are offered in Calculus, History, Chemistry, and English. Students are also offered an array of elective courses making them well rounded and competitive as they enter post secondary educational institutions and the private sector.
Our goals as committed educators are:
- to develop an environment that creates a feeling of safety, value, and helpfulness
- to provide students with skills needed to become life-long learners who can communicate and use technology to function effectively in post high school education and employment
- to enable students to have an understanding of the career options and requirements in our technological society
- to prepare students for responsible citizenship
- to have our students navigate productively through four years of an educational program and provide opportunities so that each student upon graduation can be successful in one or more of the following:
- four-year college
- community or junior college
- occupational or technical school
- military
- full-time employment
